A New Goal…

While Ninja Warrior is still a ways off in the future, I found a good mid-range goal.   On April 16th, 2011 the Marine Corp base in S.C. will be hosting their annual Mud Run, and I am planning on attending.

Hoo-RAA!  this should be a good motivator to stop procrastinating and get to work.

KickAssLogoYou haven’t really worked out until you’ve put together an exercise routine that has made you curse the day you were born, beg for mercy, and fear that a heart attack was imminent.  That pretty much describes what I did yesterday.  At some point two days ago I thought, “basic H.I.T. isn’t enough, I need a little something more.”  So, I thought, what if I eliminated the rest breaks and performed 3 rounds of 5-6 minutes of activity with NO rest during each round.    The idea struck me as a good one as I sat in my computer chair- I would later regret this whole line of thought.

So what was the workout?  Well, it looks simple enough on paper until you try to run through, balls to the wall style, with no rest in between. (more…)

Perhaps they should give that acronym a rethink?!

The F.A.T. (Funny Acronym Tuesday) challenge is back.  Yeah, I know last weak I was a bit forgetful.  And yes, I know I still haven’t posted a winner from last week.  But I will get around to that on Wednesday.  For now let us just enjoy today and the current F.A.T. challenge.

Your first acronym is…

I.N.T.U.I.T.I.O.N.

RooBabs has posted an abs challenge on her blog, so I figured I would take her up on it.  Here are some before pictures I took today.  As you can see not much has changed since my best pictures about a year ago.

And of course the ab close-up.  Warning: there is no six pack ahead… (more…)

Today went well.  I went into my first set free of any soreness or tightness from Wednesday.  The results were satisfactory and encouraging:

Level 1 = 30; 60 seconds rest (more…)

I felt a little sore going into this second day of the 100 push-up challenge.  I was worried I wouldn’t even be able to match my numbers from two days ago.  How did it turn out?

Level 1 = 27; 60 seconds rest (more…)

Well since Darla reminded me, I should thank her.  Yes, I forgot my trademark game. Kind of gives you a clue where my head is at.

Your first acronym for the day is:

F.A.R.F.I.G.N.O.O.G.I.N.
