Today my wife and daughter got a chance to go visit Kane at the hospital- I am quite jealous.  Judging by the pictures all three of them had a lot of fun.

My wife got to meet Kane’s doctors- who are by the way totally awesome!  You couldn’t imagine kinder, more knowledgeable, nicer, more considerate and patient doctors than the three doctors (one is a professor and the other two are residents).

They were even nice enough to answer my question about whether life in a vet hospital is anything like Scrubs.  Their answer.  It is more like Scrubs than Grey’s Anatomy.

Well without further adieu, here are tow videos of Sasha and Kane playing around.  Well mostly it is her playing around and Kane tolerating her.

And this…

I know, I know, that is probably too much cuteness to handle at one time so take a second, take a deep breath and click the read more bottom… (more…)

Well there is lots of stuff to catch up on so maybe I should say something like, “Coming this Week”

First I have to “dance with the one that brung me” and get back to some good old fashioned weight loss blogging. I have gotten a bit off track and forgotten my Excel spread sheets for the last few days. Well, I plan on bringing them back. I am also putting together a new post on sex and exercise (related to the VERY popular sexercise post– now viewed over 4,200 times) that will come with an interesting challenge. (more…)

Although most of the big ticket items of the adoption process are being paid for by L.F.S. and grants from the state, we are still facing a significant amount of costs for various and sundry things ranging from a fire inspection to medical exams. After you read through this list, I ask that you please add the prayer requests (listed at the conclusion of this post) to your prayers for the next several days. (more…)

The sequence from mean to super happy.  BTW, the picture had to be cut in size substantially to fit as a thumbnail.  It used to include the family cat, which my daughter had humiliated by adorning said feline with all of her princess jewelry.

And my favorite, a day at the beach.

beach

It was overcast but a comfortable 70 degrees.  The water was another story!  Freezing cold or not, she was incredibly scared of the ocean and the waves.  I expected as much considering it was her first time at the beach.  Maybe after a few more visits she will get her feet wet.

Over the course of this last year I’ve been amazed by the depth of the friendship within the world of blogging. I’ve developed some great friendships with some highly intelligent and socially well adjusted folks. Who would have thunk it, eh?! So it is about time I gave back to them, and linked to their blogs with a little snippet of appreciation for their friendship and all their kind comments along the way.

My only regret is that since I began this journey so many have given up on the blog world and moved on. So for all of them, you are missed, and I hope all is well.

But for those who remain, he is a tribute to you.

Bridget (A.K.A. Helvidius Pachyderm). Her posts are always intelligent and well-researched, her comments witty and enjoyable, and her affect amiable yet strong-willed. She is the first name on this list because in quality her blog is tops, in quantity her posts consistent, and in personality she is exemplary of the kind of warm-hearted atheist who makes Capitalists look like a positive force in this world. And maybe it warms her atheist heart to know I hope God will bless her so abundantly she can’t help but reconsider her position on his existence.

Her only flaw? Well if I must think of one, it is that she doesn’t comment on my blog as often as I would like.

Neil. He is nothing less than a great man who has completed more good in this world than I have ever thought of attempting. His theology is consistent, his blog a welcoming atmosphere even to those who consistently disagree, and his actions exemplary of how a Christian man should conduct himself. Here’s to you Neil!

Diana. Indeed, she is a woman whose beauty is only excelled by the depth of her compassion and love for God’s creation. Her blog is a poignant look into the struggles and joys of a daughter of God.

My various political allies and friends include: Debbie, Matthew, CavMom, Angel, Tammi, Velvet Hammer, and others I’ve unfortunately forgotten.

My non-political friends include: Tammy, Abarclay, Rachel B., Isaac, PinksandBlues (three very beautiful women who run a business) and others I regretfully forgot.

Religious friends include: The Epiphinator (A marathon running, discipling, beauty), Kiki, Timothy, MLBAH, and others I regretfully forgot.

Weight loss friends include: Israel (a recent friend, but he admires my work so he is obviously a man of refined and exquisite tastes), Lady Rose, and many others who haven’t commented on this blog in a bit so I couldn’t find a link to their blog. See the benefit of commenting often!

And don’t forget to check this out

A very kind person over at www.theweighwewere.com forums with access to one of those neat programs like PhotoShop put this together for me. I think it is really awesome. Check it out.  And then check out theweighwewere.

I would have posted earlier, but my wife didn’t want me to blog about these blessings until we watched them play out a bit more.  However, I can’t contain my joy any longer and after spilling the beans to Neil over at 4Simpsons a week ago, I am going to share God’s gracious actions in our life with all of you.

As all of you who read this blog know, my wife and I have decided to pursue adoption.   Our choice (and our agreement) resulted from a rather miraculous experience- and I don’t mean simply the miracle of getting your wife to agree with you (you know what I mean husbands).
