Last Night: Both of us were a bit tired after a long week.

Sorry, but blogging activities have been temporarily suspended for the weekend as I play nurse maid to my dog and simply enjoy having him back in our home.  Ever try to hold up the rear end of a 90+ dog while he pees?  Trust me, you aren’t missing out on anything.  That is the kind of thing you do out of loyalty and love.  See you again on Monday!

Amazing news.  Remember how yesterday I blogged about how Kane had lost deep pain sensation in one of his hind legs?  Well one of Kane’s doctors called this morning and she sounded absolutely giddy.  Apparently this morning they took him out to pee and not only did he pee on his own, he was also able to stand up on his own.  That means he has the ability to place weight on his back legs which is a tremendous jump since yesterday when he couldn’t even feel deep pain.  His progress is so significant that his doctor admitted that they were shocked by his rapid improvement in a single day’s time.  I am thankfully that the Lord has heard our prayers and answered my request that he would heal Kane in such a manner that his doctors would be amazed by his progress.  The sound of the doctor’s voice confirms that my (and our) prayer(s) were answered in a wonderful way.  (more…)

Today my wife and daughter got a chance to go visit Kane at the hospital- I am quite jealous.  Judging by the pictures all three of them had a lot of fun.

My wife got to meet Kane’s doctors- who are by the way totally awesome!  You couldn’t imagine kinder, more knowledgeable, nicer, more considerate and patient doctors than the three doctors (one is a professor and the other two are residents).

They were even nice enough to answer my question about whether life in a vet hospital is anything like Scrubs.  Their answer.  It is more like Scrubs than Grey’s Anatomy.

Well without further adieu, here are tow videos of Sasha and Kane playing around.  Well mostly it is her playing around and Kane tolerating her.

And this…

I know, I know, that is probably too much cuteness to handle at one time so take a second, take a deep breath and click the read more bottom… (more…)

We made our first trip to the hospital today.  We discussed the issue of our payment plan, received the unfortunate news that it appeared we might not be able to get any grants to cover the surgery (keep praying about this), and we paid off part of the bill.  [BTW: If you do want to help defray some of the costs of Kane’s surgery just click this sentence.]

On a more positive note we saw Kane for about an hour.  We walked outside with Kane and the doctors and learned how to help him pee by squeezing on his bladder- fun times.  We saw some improvement in him placing a small amount of weight on his hind legs- YEAH!

Then we went into a comfy visiting room where Sasha prayed for Kane and we hung out together for a while.  Here are some of the pictures and video from our visit.

How about the cutest thing first?  Here is a video of Sasha and Kane together- sorry for the no sound, our digital cam stinks.

Next, the surgery scars

I told him that he was lucky in a way since chicks dig scars. (more…)

I began today’s run with one simple goal.  Run until I couldn’t run another step.  How did I do?

Well this chart tells only a small part of the story.  I began my run feeling a bit rough.  My chest felt a bit rough, like my trachea was raw.  But since I didn’t have a sore throat I figured I would just go ahead and run.  Before I ran out the door I uploaded to my Ipod a 35 minute segment from the Dennis Prager radio show and hit the road.

The first five minutes of my run felt horrible.  The only analogy I can give you is that it felt like my legs were the size of broomsticks and I was trying to balance a bag of cement blocks on top of them.  That is the only way I can convey to you how it felt every time my weight would come crashing down on my lead foot.  (more…)

Although most of the big ticket items of the adoption process are being paid for by L.F.S. and grants from the state, we are still facing a significant amount of costs for various and sundry things ranging from a fire inspection to medical exams. After you read through this list, I ask that you please add the prayer requests (listed at the conclusion of this post) to your prayers for the next several days. (more…)

Well here is the first (and quite incomplete) version of our introduction book. Tell me what you think. Anything we should take out? Add in? Anything you particularly like or dislike? Drop a comment and let me know. And since I can’t resize this, just click on the link to see the whole 14 or so slide presentation.

My Scrapblog

Foul-mouthed gutter Santa’s talk about oral sex getting you down? Then swing on over to Musings, Rants, and Monologues to check out the hilarious and terribly offensive (not to mention juvenile) humor contained therein. If I might recommend a few particularly delightful posts for my new readers…

Check out Mahmoud Admadinejad’s most recent letter to the citizens of these United States. It is an awkward attempt to reach out, but well worth the read….

Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS)- it’s not just a disease, it is also horribly lame!

At the risk of inciting the crawling Google ad reader to post ads for Gay personals and porn on my site, I will repost a link to what can rightly be labeled, “The Gayest Debate Ever!

Ever curious about how you might find out if the government’s black helicopters are after you? Ever just want to craft your own far out conspiracy theories? Well, if you answered yes to either of those questions, this posts for you. I call it, “The Complete Blockhead’s Guide on How to Know when the Black Helicopters are Coming for You…” [WARNING: this post includes midgets, Lohans, Asian people, and incoherent ramblings]

And the series that started it all..

The Love That Dare Not Speak its Name…

Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Click each link at your own risk. I am not responsible if you wet your pants due to hysterical laughter.

5. 10 minutes on the treadmill feels like an eternity. 10 minutes of sex often feels like it went by in less than 30 seconds.

4. In the gym you are usually surrounded by a bunch of overly muscled dudes grunting and straining. During sex, not only are you the most muscular guy in the room, the person doing the grunting is much prettier!

3. In aerobics class you are surrounded by 20 beautiful women who wouldn’t give you the time of day. During sex you have one woman so beautiful that you won’t remember what time of day it is.

2. Whenever you run the track it seems like you are getting nowhere fast. During sex you know you’re going nowhere (well at least no more than five feet in either direction) and you’re more than okay with that.

1. When you go to the gym after eating pizza you feel guilty for cheating on your diet. During sex you never feel guilty about the pizza, cookies, or cake you ate earlier because, quite frankly, you will have other more pleasant things on your mind.

Caveat: Sex is a wonderful blessing from God and should only be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage. While sex inside marriage is beautiful, pleasurable, and down right great exercise, sex outside of marriage often causes pain, the occasional venereal disease, and is usually too sporadic to count as good exercise. So enjoy- but only within good clean healthy moral limits. HA!

Gosh she is so adorable!

I would post them here but I am running out of space.  Well, okay, he is one picture…DO!  Okay, it won’t let me post it as a thumbnail.  Darn WordPress!  Well guess you’ll have to cruise over to MySpace.
