12/21/2011: Some Good News

In addition to a good workout I also had the personal trainers run my body-fat and blood pressure numbers.  The BP numbers turned out so good I am sure the machine was broken.  I was so sure they couldn’t be true that I insisted on three measurements (2 from the right arm and 1 from the left).  The end result averaged out to 95/65 with a resting pulse of 67 beats per minute.  The body fat measurements were a bit on the high-end.  I had my BF measure with body electronic calipers and the handheld machine.  The electronic calipers gave a reading of 28.95% (60.5 lbs of fat on my frame) and the handheld gave a reading of 22.1% (46 pounds of fat on my frame).  Either way I have plenty of fat to shed during my fitness journey.

I had a good early morning walk (which I started doing last week) and a decent reintroduction to Tabata Training.  I say decent because I ended up not being able to do the full 10/10 program, but I did make it halfway through.  I will have to focus on rebuilding some of my basic strength before I venture back into Tabata training. Maybe next month I will try again?

So where are you in your journey now? I have been away for some time. Hope you are reaching goals still! Happy New Year!

    • Presently, most unfortunately, I am on day 4 of a terrible cold that has decided to settle in my lungs–I guess it is comfortable in there and it doesn’t have any relatives to visit. As far as other factors go my weight and body-fat are ridiculously high; the result of undisciplined eating and an on-and-off relationship with cardio and the weight room. But this New Year I have decided to return to tackling my health and financial problems. I have identified my enemy as the dreaded combination of procrastination and over consumption (of pretty much all things: food, consumer goods, video games) and I am going to pummel them into submission. Thanks for asking. I hope all is well with you and that you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. IT is nice, given the current state of WordPress, to see a comment from a real person and not a spambot selling Cialis, Roflex Watches, or enlargement supplements.

Hello. I haven’t been by here since…….a long time ago. Wow! Actually I was somewhat vacant from the scene for a season, but am now in the process of returning. I pray that all is well with you and your household.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

    Hiya TT
I was just over at Tims blog bemoaning how he’s been lost to the blogging world since August last year, & now popped in to yours to find you’re the same 😦 Did something happen to ya’ll in August over there in the big US of A that I don’t know about LOL!

I can’t say anything as I’ve been in reality little better – only posts I’ve made in the past few months have been minimal ones on personal issues rather than my usual provocative spiritual rantings, but I’m going to try hard to change that in the coming weeks. My health’s been dire over the past year (opposite problem to you!) but I’m working hard too to try and improve things on that front but I’m very dependent on doctors figuring out what the cause is, & that takes forever here in the UK with our wonderful NHS.

Anyway – hope things are going well with you in your own health issues, & hopefully see you back blogging away again soon 🙂

    God bless

I just started using fasting to try to lose some weight. I need to loose around 40 lbs to get back to at least 200lbs myself.
