Day 18: Only Ten Days Left…

Today was a pretty good holiday.  I got to watch lots of Powerpuff Girls with my daughter (there was a marathon today) and I got in a good workout.  Also, if you promise not to tell me trainer, I even had a regular meal for lunch.  We were out bargain hunting at Circuit City- BTW, there were ZERO bargains- and we decided to stop in to T.G.I.F.’s.  I ordered a petite 6 oz. medium rare sirloin steak with a side of broccoli, onions, and mushrooms.  The menu claimed the meal clocked in at less than 500 calories and less than 6 net carbs.  Otherwise its been all protein shakes and fiber throughout the day.

As for my workout, it was the toughest one yet.  How so?  Well it was the longest one thus far.  Here are the details:

GPP Strength Training

  • Session I, 3 minutes activity and 60 seconds rest.
  • Sledgehammer:   3 minutes
  • Tire Flipping: 3 minutes
  • Tire Drag: 3 minutes, dragged with bear crawl twice.
  • Sandbag Press: 3 minutes
  • Push-ups: 3 minutes (30, 15, 2 20 second negatives, 10 reps)
  • Session II, 3 minutes activity and 60 seconds rest.
  • Sledgehammer: 3 minutes
  • Tire Flipping: 3 minutes
  • Tire Drag: 3 minutes, drag with arms standing
  • Sandbag Press: 3 minutes, shoulder and throw forward
  • Push-ups: 3 minutes (20, 3 (slow), 9 reps)
  • Session III, 3 minutes activity and 60 seconds rest.
  • Sledgehammer: 2 minutes
  • Tire Flipping: 2 minutes
  • Tire Drag: 2 minutes
  • Sandbag Press: 2 minutes, shoulder, press, and slam down
  • Push-ups: 2 minutes (15, 12, 5 reps)

Total workout time was 52 minutes.  If you subtract the rest periods between sets and exercises, it amounts to 40 minutes of HIT activity.  A tough and rewarding workout.  See you all tomorrow!  I am off to enjoy the rest of the holiday.
