Okay…so we’ve waited a week to find out.  The results are finally in.  The numbers on the left are my January 1st measurements; the numbers on the  right are my measurement from today (January 8th).  Okay, here goes, let’s hope this is good:

  • Body Fat: 26.5…………………………..Now: 24.5
  • Neck: 15.5″……………………………….Now: 15
  • Shoulders: 46″…………………………Now: 46.5
  • Chest: 40″………………………………..Now: 40
  • Arms: (R) 15.5″/(L) 15.5″……………Now: (R) 15.5/(L) 15.5
  • Forearms: (R) 12.5″/(L) 12″……….Now: (R) 12.5/(L) 12.15
  • Belly: 38″…………………………………Now: 37
  • Hips: 39″………………………………….Now: 38
  • Legs: (R) 24″/ (L) 23.75″……………Now: (R) 24.25/(L) 24

For another way of looking at it, consider this.

  • Weight: LOST 4.4 pounds
  • Body Fat: DROPPED 2.1% body fat

Not bad for the first week.

  2. Well the only bad part is the 36 hours of diarrhea. That was about the only downside. That and a mild craving for carbs. Saw my daughter’s nilla wafers this morning and really wanted one, but I resisted.

    Way to go John.

    Being the trainer geek that I am, I crunched your numbers a little bit more, and came up with this.

    Based on your weight and bodyfat percentages, the drop in bodyfat from 26.5 to 24.5% means you have lost 9.7% of your total fat mass in one week.

    And wait, it gets even better.

    Your lean body mass shot up almost 1/2 a pound (0.4 to be exact). So, unless you just had a growth spurt and put on 1/2 a pound of bone mass, you have managed to add muscle while losing bodyfat.

    Superstar.

  5. Excellent. I can’t wait to see what happens by the end of this 28 day period. I have a family function to go to in February, and it would be nice to bring a six-pack along with me.
