Checking In…

The worst has past- no more fever, no more chills.  Unfortunately, I still have a wretched sandpaper cough and mucus coming out of at least three orifices.  Oh, how I look forward to life in heaven and on the new earth at times like this.

  1. Get well!

Why are you looking forward to eternal life? That means, by definition, you’ll spend part of eternity – i.e. an infinite amount of time – with mucus coming out of all orifices.

Do you have whooping cough? I got that when I was in 8th grade.

  2. “Why are you looking forward to eternal life”

Out of touch with Christian theology concerning the after-life? No more death or sickness Bridget. Once again God’s creation will be without sin, and consequently, without disease, decay, or a whole list of bad d-words.

And I hope it isn’t whooping cough since I am pretty sure I got the vaccine for that as a child.

  3. I was vaccinated, too. 30-40% of the vaccines become ineffective after a while. They are starting to give booster shots for it.

Once again God’s creation will be without sin, and consequently, without disease, decay, or a whole list of bad d-words.

Until someone eats another apple, and then we’re all back to the same old grind again. That whole thing didn’t work out the first time, now did it? So will God remove free will, so we can’t sin, or could we sin, at any time, and be confined to Hell for eternity?

  4. Don’t forget that one important factor is missing the second time around…no more Satan (i.e. no more temptation). 😉

Gosh, I really can’t wait to spend eternity with my Lord and Savior- not to mention my wife and daughter. It would be nice to see you there too Bridget. I’ll keep praying for God to move your heart.

  5. Don’t forget that one important factor is missing the second time around…no more Satan (i.e. no more temptation). 😉

Well, that makes sense. Couldn’t another angel fall, though, and be the new and improved(?) tempter?

I mean, if you believe Christian theology, there was evil before we were in the world. There is still evil. I guess I’m missing why there could not be evil afterwards, in any possible manner.

I’m an engineer. What heart? :p

  6. First of all how do you set of the text in your comments like that?

Second, seeing the consequences of the first fall I don’t think we need to worry about any other angels (or other created beings) pursuing a similar path. Point being, the example that God will make of the 1/3 of the angels who rebelled will be more than a sufficient deterrent. If the death penalty deters, then think how much more of a deterrent the whole burning forever thing will be.

Engineers have hearts. They are just buried under a thick layer of pocket protectors, star wars memorabilia, and ugly sweaters knit by their endearing grandmothers. 😉

  7. Replace the [ and ] with the symbols above the comma and period (shift-comma, shift-period.) I just don’t want this to not come out if I use them.

italics: stuff you want to slant
bold: same with b instead of i
    indented: [blockquote]indented text[/blockquote]

There’s another one for links, but I forget it right now.

Okay, so we are deterring evil permanently? Got it.

  8. I see someone has nothing to do tonight, eh? You really need a boyfriend or a hobby. HA!

  9. sansoucy says:

I completely understand your statement, but WHILE your still here. . .please feel better soon! 🙂

  10. :p

I have a hobby; it’s called blogging. I also live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. :p

I don’t have, nor want, a boyfriend. I find the worst ones and I’m quite frankly tired of throwing my life away with both hands.
