There I Said it!  Now that you’re here, enjoy the rest of my blog.  There is religious content (sure to infuriate the atheist-leftist branch of Paul’s followers) and even you aren’t sufficiently offender you could visit my other blog by clicking here.

BTW, just to throw the Ron Paul supporters who show up here a bone- I agree with much of what Paul has to say!  However, I think he has ZERO chance of even winning the primary, much less the general election.  Real elections aren’t like on-line straw polls.  In real elections you only get to vote once AND you have to actually leave your house.

But, I must say, best of luck to Paul.  We could use someone to show that the two party system isn’t invulnerable.  However, in an age when the electorate is groomed to expect handouts from Republicans and Democrats alike- the only difference being on party promises a larger amount and to different groups- I don’t expect a small government strict constructionist like Paul to even come close to winning.

Now Perot, that guys was nuts, but he really had a chance to win the whole thing.

  1. But say he spends as much as he will need to spend to win Iowa, then what?

BTW thanks for being respectful and posting a link. Much appreciated.

  2. Texas Little El says:

Interesting, Sportsbook.com has him at 6:1 odds of winning the Presidency and at 4:1 odds of winning the primary.

Intrade.com shows Rep. Paul having a steady climb, not at the levels of Rudolpho or Willard but they seem to have peaked while he continues to climb.

http://www.ronpaul2008.com online donation counter has $235,000 in donations and this round of fund raising only started 4 days ago. This is 1/4 the money that Mike Huckabee raised in an entire quarter, yet Rep Paul is able to raise it online in just a few days.

Yes, we must bow to totaltransformations superior wisdom that Rep. Paul has zero chance of winning the nomination.

  3. “This is 1/4 the money that Mike Huckabee raised in an entire quarter, yet Rep Paul is able to raise it online in just a few days.”

Yes, comparing your candidate to Mike Huckabee is a good way to go. Who’s next? Did he raise more than Alan Keyes and Sam Brownback?

“Yes, we must bow to totaltransformations superior wisdom that Rep. Paul has zero chance of winning the nomination.”

I polite nod would be acceptable, no need to bow. Plus, when I preface a statement with “I think” it doesn’t necessarily you that you must agree. Feel free to be offended the next time I begin a statement with “You must think.”

Thanks for coming by and, by Ron Paul supporter standards, acting comparatively gracious. I will reemphasize the word “comparatively.”

  4. Ellis says:

Rudy also has zero chance of winning the general election, especially with the religious right promising not to support him. So why not support the person who’s views you actually agree most with? If that’s Paul, great. If not, at least you don’t have to feel dirty voting for the lesser of two evils.

  5. I don’t support Rudy, that is for sure. The man had an odd obsession with ensuring Ferrets remained illegal pets back when he was NY city mayor. You should hear the clips of him flipping out and arguing with people who wanted ferrets legalized.

  6. Ellis says:

I’ve heard it. He was calling anyone who wanted to own a ferret mentally ill. That dude scares me. I’d even vote for Hillary before him, and there’s no way I’d vote for Hillary!

  7. I went to the link, and noticed his son’s name is Rand. Any link with Ayn?

  8. Rich Paul says:

I wondered the same thing. Not sure.

If Ron Paul doesn’t get the nomination, I hope we who support him will stay together and join the Libertarian Party en masse.

But I have no idea what his chances are.

  9. Oy vey.

Ron Paul, IMO, has very little chance. Guiliani isn’t really a conservative, and Republicans don’t want to have to choose between a Democrat and another Democrat.
