This morning I tried to go for a 15-20 minute run, instead I was lucky to get one five minute session and a smaller two minute session of running between long bouts of walking.

I remember June 23rd fondly.  It was the day that I thought I had finally become a runner again.  Sadly, two aborted attempts later, I am still the same lead-footed lummox.  Gosh, I hate running.

Well, putting that behind me, at least I have a good resistance training session to look forward to.

Just keep at it, I am sure you will be able to run with the best of them in no time!

  2. It’s funny, I went for a run last Friday and felt wonderful the whole time. Afterwards I said to my husband, “If running felt that good every time, I wouldn’t do any other exercise!” But the truth is, like you said, sometimes running is just plain frustrating. One day you feel so light, and like you could run 20 miles, the next day you hardly have the stamina to go 2 miles. I feel you!

I don’t see me ever running – but I am trying to walk more. My knees can’t handle running. Good luck and start out slow — I know you can reach your goal! Lady Rose

while I’m quite fast in a hundred yard dash, I’m with you. Anything much longer than that and I feel like I could die. I’d much prefer to ride a bike.

I love running. It’s my favorite form of exercise because first, it’s free, and second, I usually feel great afterward. That said, it is quite punishing on the body. Years of running have given me knee and back problems. That hasn’t stopped me from continuing, though. 😉

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day, and for the great suggestion on the paper-towel-as-walker for my daughter. I’m going to try it soon!

I keep trying to run, jog… but I can’t seem to make progress either but that doesn’t mean you won’t. Somehow I think our bodies get stuck in a rut where the only thing they want to do is what is easier. Kicking and screaming, our bodies try to slow us down. If you have the heart of a runner then keep trying slowly…..

Do you mean running or Joging? If you mean runing 5 minutes is great. If you mean Jogging, don’t worry, there are plenty of people you can’t jog.

  9. I love to run. Sadly, I have a bum ankle so I can’t do more than a few miles on it, even when it’s all taped up. 😦

  10. I just finished a 10K at 275 lbs, so you can do it. I’ve been using bike riding and weights and only jog twice a week. At my weight, it’s best not to pound the concrete too much. I working on a half marathon in November, but I won’t make any commitments, yet.
